Turquoise Fashion

Hello Patina,

Typically, I would geek out on a concho belt, but after I posted the photo, I discovered the belt is not Native made. I should probably give Miss Top Hat the boot, but it appears her rings and hatpin are authentic, so I’ll let her stay. :slightly_smiling_face:

I like super comfy - if you have an Old Navy close by, they have a couple of dress options (I like them long with boots) with a sweater or jacket over the top to cover my arms and hide a little middle bulge:

or something like this DDR dress:

if you have a broomstick skirt hidden at the back of your closet - you can pair it with a short jacket:

Found this one on Amazon - turquoise really pops against the forest green color -

Good morning, everyone! Thanks to those who responded to my fashion dilemma. The good news with this, @Ziacat is that it doesn’t have to be super dressy; they’re letting us go a little bit casual. I don’t think I’m going to get away with jeans, but cowboy boots definitely so. And of course I definitely have the turquoise jewelry to fit the bill!

I think y’all have given me some inspiration for shopping this weekend, and I’m trying to check my closet for some long items. @RedlandMaggie I do have an Old Navy store and I’ll have to check them out. To @mmrogers idea for a sundress, I think that would be appropriate for the weather given that we’re going to be in Scottsdale.

The recent weight gain has left me unable to wear some of the clothes in my closet, particularly the things that were fitted, so trying to find something that’s a little looser but still flattering is a challenge also.

I’m going to check out some things this weekend, both short and long.

You’ll have to show us what you put together once your outfit is chosen. I love helping with ideas. And I have a range of sizes in my closet as well because of sigh circumference changes. I have 2 plain long velvet dresses (navy and black) that cover an astonishing range of events, and are like wearing jammies comfort-wise, my favorite go to when I’m stumped.

Yes (if you want) please share with us what you decide! I also understand having a variety of clothes sizes  at least our jewelry fits (except for my rings, seems like my fingers like to change sizes too)!

@RedlandMaggie, I love velvet with turquoise. I don’t have a velvet dress, but I have a velvet T that I wear a lot in the winter with my stuff.

And you get to wear it all in Scottsdale, fun!! I’m assuming you’ll get to do a little jewelry shopping, so you’ll need to share that also with us also

You already have a lot of good ideas, but I’m posting these two pictures anyway, because wouldn’t these BritWest cashmere sweaters be awesome with a skirt and Boots in cooler weather (they’re on sale )? Plus they fit in this thread… the horse is pretty cool too.

All right. I’m gonna wear my cowboy boots to Church this Sunday

I’m back!! Okay, so I ended up going pretty simple…boots, long denim skirt, brown satin top. And of course, BIG turquoise cuff!!! I have a simple oval turquoise and copper pendant, and they gave us all a cowboy hat. Glad to wear my Tony Llamas. Thanks for all the suggestions and inspiration!!

And rest of trip goofing off among the saguaros…awesome!!

You look great! I love the big cuff❤️

Perfect! I love brown shirts that make our turquoise “pop”!

@RedlandMaggie @Stracci thanks!! I did pick the brown because the theme was “copper ranch” and it also complemented the matrix in my turquoise, LOL.

That cuff is not one that I can easily wear daily…too long, so I enjoyed pulling it out for a special event!

You made a great choice all the way around but the cuff could have been a bit bigger.

bigger like this one (image borrowed off of Etsy)? She’d have one arm longer by the end of the night

Exactly. One for each wrist. @Xtina What you chose was perfect. I especially liked the brown top.

Added some gaspeite earrings (Don Lucas) and a ring (T. Yazzie) to my green boots and navy dress - I’m all set. The greens in the ring and earrings matchup quite well, the boots will be far enough away that matchy matchy doesn’t matter. The colors are quite vivid in person.

Gosh, that is a great color combination. The ring is beautiful, and those earrings are crazy cool.

I was googling gaspeite earrings and stumbled across them… and when I finally decided to purchase them they were discounted a little, so I could buy the ring too!

Thanks to @TAH’s suggestive nudge, I’m adding this sharply dressed gentleman to this thread, as it is very fitting. :+1:
