Turquoise jewelry I recently made

Thank you @BlytheEcho !

I like your ‘modern’ description. I always worry that my pieces are all starting to look alike.

But then again, maybe it’s ok that I have a recognizable style!

I finally got motivated to make something today.

I have this bitty piece of red coral that has been kicking around for my bench for 20 years. So today was the day to use it.

And you made good use of it. Nicely done again.

Thanks @StevesTrail!

I was inspired by some rings I saw recently on some selling sites. But the prices are ridiculous, as is predictable these days. So I was forced to make my own!

I love that small bead wire :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Lovely! Reminds me of a Kary Begay ring I was admiring.

Thanks @Ziacat !

I’ve been looking at red coral jewelry lately, and realizing that I need some!

Thanks @TAH !

It was a challenge with all this small detail. I really tried to control that solder, cause I hate the mess that too much can make on small pieces like this. It’s only a size 5-1/2

Yet another fabulous piece, @Stracci! I love the bezel and the (what I’m going to call) fans on either side of the settings. It looks like you’re dabbling into stamps? :slightly_smiling_face: :+1::+1:

Thanks @Ravenscry !

Well, not really stamps. Just a straight slot screwdriver and some nail sets.

I don’t want to mimic Native jewelry, and I’m afraid real silversmith stamps might look too Native. What do you think?

That made for some awesome accents!

This is highly respectable and understood. :+1:

My opinion shouldn’t account for much, but I think that even simple chisels, dapping punches and “end of file” stampwork could all be fun to experiment with; as those are relatively “universal” methods, personally, I wouldn’t feel as though you were plagerizing Native American styles. :+1:

I would not hesitate to use similar stamps if it works in the piece. As you are making jewelry for yourself and not selling it as NA, I don’t see an issue. I also agree with Aaron. In addition, each persons stamp is its own signature. Might be similar but still unique to your hand in creating it.

Another beautifully made ring, @Stracci! The complexity and execution of the project is really impressive. Time to hang out your shingle I think

Very nice! That’s a cool design and it really sets off that beautiful red coral.

Thanks for your opinions. I’m sure you are both right. Maybe I’ll check out the stamps next time I’m at Thunderbird Supply.

Thanks for your encouragement @mmrogers !

I’m always afraid my projects are going to be a huge fail. This one was a bit tricky, but it worked out OK in the end. I’ll probably do more of this type until I get it just right…..

Thanks @Patina !

I didn’t have a real design plan this time, I just made it up as I went along. I like the red, too!

Oh, it came out perfectly! Nice design on this one! I like how you embellished the sides

You seem very capable of making your own @Stracci . A little research, some simple tools and files, steel, and some heat.

It’s hard to describe the “Zen” type feeling and sense of accomplishment as you formulate the design, decide how to execute, and finally end up with a tool you made with your own hand that can last for generations. Almost as good as creating a piece of jewelry. This bears out as soon as you start using them.

@Stracci This is a lovely ring. I like how you challenge yourself with each new project. Well done.
