Is there really a Turquoise People App? If yes, has anyone downloaded it and uses that solely instead of using a browser? Now & then, I get a message to install the Turquoise People App.

I have it on my phone with an icon that I click. But last night I Googled Turquoise People app, and it said there’s not an actual Google app (there’s nothing in my Google app store that I could find last night - I was looking to see if I could uninstall and reinstall). If I remember right, way back I clicked on it from the forum (probably what you are seeing). But it definitely shows up as an app when I look at my phone’s list of apps. I hope that makes some sense…

@Ziacat That makes sense, thanks. I’ll probably install it if the offer ever appears again. (Having the TP App wouldn’t have shielded anyone from issues with the Domain Name expiring. The App might still open, but with the same or similar issues.)

That would be nice. I just leave the forum tab open in my browser because I normally check it every day. And then today happened…

I use the app on my phone. Chrome kept asking me to download the app. I finally broke down and did it.
It takes me right to the TP site without having to go into my bookmarks and scroll down looking for it.

Yep, that’s exactly what mine looks like! I think I did it about 6 months after I joined in '21, and it’s worked well.

Not seeing the Turquoise People app on the Apple Canada App Store, alas.

Oh, you mean just make a shortcut to the website! I can certainly do that. In my case (iPhone), it would open a new tab of Safari to the Turquoise People homepage.
Sorry, I read the thread too carelessly and thought there was a dedicated app that I’d somehow missed!

As @Stracci and @Ziacat pointed out, it’s definitely nicer than keeping a tab open and hunting it!

What I have is most definitely showing up as an app in my phone, when I look at apps used it’s there. But what I read online it is not in the Google store. I believe I clicked on what @Patina is saying came up for her a while ago, but it is so long ago I don’t remember. At least a shortcut will get you there quicker!
With this a little icon comes up at the top of my phone if anyone comments on a thread of mine, or whatever.
Or what Aaron mentioned is the same thing I presume. I noticed it last night in my apps because I was checking to make sure there wasn’t strange activity on my phone, because of what was going on with the site.

@Ravenscry I was going to tag you and tap into your wizardry until I saw your response. I knew you’d be all over it! In case anyone else hasn’t mentioned it yet - I’ll probably scroll here in a moment and find someone else has already spoken to it - for iPhones, you can save the bookmark to your Home Screen and it looks just like an app. And then you can rename it whatever you want and when you click, it’ll take you straight there.

I placed the little icon on my home screen. And like you, TP now shows up as an App in my list of Apps.

I didn’t know Apple would subsequently label an iPhone web shortcut as an app - fascinating! And very worth knowing.I’ll give it a try later
