Are any of you fascinating people planning on attending ?
Aug 8-10, sponsored by the Turquoise Museum.
If so, would love to meet you in person.
Had not idea there was a Turquoise Symposium! It looks pretty interesting; probably could learn a lot by attending!
I visited the Museum in April this year…even more intrigued than I’d been in 2007 when it was in a small strip mall storefront. Spent long time chatting with Joe Dan Lowry and am intrigued by the debate session planned on natural versus imitation turquoise. Not to mention Exhibitor booths and lots of turquoise samples. Will be held at ABBQ Convention Center with exhibits open to public for free. Figure jumping down the turquoise rabbit hole a great way to further educate my eye.
I was just out west in April, so won’t be able to make this, but it does sound interesting, not to mention it would be fun to meet up with people!
Every time we get out there I say I’m going to go to the Turquoise Museum and never make it. Maybe next time!
Ziacat - You’d go out of your ever-turquoise-lovin’ mind…it’s an intellectual orgasm to see
and learn so much in one place. Allow at least 3-4 hours to read all the text information in the various exhibits, and really linger over all the different kinds of stones. Some of the pieces are jaw-dropping spectacular.
A turquoiasm, you might say
