Glad you are improving. Better to fall up the stairs than down.

Sorry you’ve had a bit of a challenge @Islandmomma. But you have such a positive attitude, it always helps. I’m late catching up on many threads, but I do love your buckle. Hope you enjoy it with the new belt😊

Hi, I missed your post but now I’m curious about why you think the buckle is so much older. Today I cut the old leather off with my new knife that my dad made me for my birthday. It’s definitely sharp! I weighed the buckle afterwards and it weighs 48 g. I also tried to clean some of the old leather out of it where it flaked off into the design. I looked closer at the stones and they definitely do not look like they’ve ever been on a wheel. I did some more pictures to try to see if we can get a better view. I’d be interested in what you think after you look at them. Do you still think it’s that old and why thanks.

Well now, this is intriguing! Personally, I’d love to see your knife that was crafted by your father, if you’d be willing to share it, that is. If you’re so inclined, perhaps you could share it in @TAH’s Indian Silver and Knife Photography thread. :slightly_smiling_face: If not, I completely understand!

No, I don’t mind sharing. Of course, even though the antler is left-handed my father has yet to give me a left-handed holster. Maybe after all these decades he still thinks he can convert me lol. This is the one he finished a couple months ago and

his 94th birthday is in about three weeks. Still going strong! He also told me that he couldn’t stamp it because it was the wrong kind of steel, but when I got it, he had managed to grind a spot and stamp his name sort a halfway on it. SMH (yes I have knives in the bed) :joy::woman_facepalming:

What a beautiful piece! How incredible that your father has so many winters under his belt and is still keeping after it, what a blessing!

Thank you for sharing this special example of lovely craftsmanship. :+1:

Doesn’t everyone?

@Islandmomma I hope you’re feeling better with each new day. So happy to hear you’re at home. They don’t allow you to rest in a hospital. Recovery is almost always better in your own home and bed.

Just a little update. My belt got here while I was in the hospital and I finally got it put on. It is seriously stiff. And thick enough so that nothing else goes back through the belt bar. It is tucked behind the belt. I hope that you will excuse my hideous photo station, but I thought I’d give you a little update. Now I think I would like to add a slightly thinner black tooled

belt as well so that I can switch it out. I carefully cut the old one off and it is put away in thick Ziploc so that I still have the history. Thanks everybody for all your get well wishes.

Thank you all. I’m gonna wear my turquoise. I have worn it even when it hurt. But I’m very tickled with my belt and I’m very grateful that I am home and I’ve been prednisone up for about four days now.. now to get off this stupid oxygen and get back to life. Talk to you later guys.

You look fab!! And so does your jewelry of course  Glad you are home and on the mend.

I have some belts that are thick like that, and won’t go back through, so I just kind of let the leather hang down, but I understand that you’re worried because the belt is so well worn. It will also look great on a black belt.

And yes you should wear your jewelry! I have some on now while just hanging around the house.

So that is your O2 cord. I was going to laugh at you for using your phone while charging it. So glad your are improving! Good looking turquoise there.
