Can’t figure out what this leather “belt” is. Looks like a Navajo stylized Sun of Zia mark on inside of buckle and artist’s mark on tip of tongue (like a round flower).
It’s 17-1/2 long, tip to tip, which may be too small for a hat band. Could it be a choker necklace? A boot accessory?
(Hope these pictures show up)
Oh, thank you for looking. The photo on the belt tip doesn’t really show it well. Like a round flower. I think it’s too small for a kid’s hat. Could it be a boot decoration?
Well depending on what you want for it, I might buy it for my German Shepherd! My hubby would just adore me for that. LOL Let me just say, here in PA we don’t see a whole lot of Native made jewelry, so one day my husband told me if I would happen to pass before him, he would just take all my Native jewelry and donate it! I about had heart failure and told him please don’t do that! He doesn’t have a clue what I’ve paid for some of my pieces.
Being a Western hat wearer for over 50 years, that belt would make for an overly heavy, bulky hatband, especially as it increased in size to fit an actual hat. But perhaps that’s what it is.
Yes, LOL. I’m checking it out with Sunwest Silver, as suggested by Steve here. Will get back to you when I figure it out.
You might make a codicil to your will or at least a list of whom you want your N.A. pieces to go to in the hopefully unlikely event you predecease your hubby! Or a museum!
