You’re too kind Zia. I’m glad you enjoyed! There are a few other combos I enjoy, I’ll throw them together.
Of this I’m certain. You’ll note how I framed the shots so as to keep my ugly mug out of them.
I could see myself being in an issue of the infamous magazine, by accident, perhaps mending fence in the background of a feature photo of some beautiful Western icon.
Thanks @Bmpdvm! I spend much of my life in blue jeans and long sleeve denims, and I really like the darker color shirts. I appreciate fashion and feel it’s a marvelous form of expression. Everyone’s certainly got their thing, but I’m a huge fan of stacking. If I could just find some cuffs…
@Ziacat has eluded to it before, but in the conservative area and city we both reside in, our tastes aren’t so common, but I love that. If someone doesn’t like it, they can keep on moving, and if my getup intrigues a stranger, they should be prepared for a full on session! (which has happened a few times, usually resulting in blank stares, glazed-over eyes and head scratches. )
I’ll have to get my younger sister, Jess, in front of my camera for this thread. She dresses with such class and adorns herself beautifully, I think you guys would appreciate her approach.
Combo of the day:
I’m going a bit more raw and tribal today with the old pawn claw heishi by Joe Hascheene Pilot Mountain turquoise.
The amber beads are Russian not NA but, the amber cuff is although, it’s unsigned.
Tawney Willie Thunderbird ring, and unknown artist Pilot Mountain cuff.
Thank you @Phoenix7! Your picks for today make for a killer combination and lovely photograph, I especially like the Tawney Willie Thunderbird ring. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you I don’t wear it often. The claws go all the way around and they tend to get stuck in my hair. I obtained it from an individual that was a photographer for National Geographic. If I ever decide to part with it, I will keep you in mind.
But I still love my state, and I wouldn’t change where I live for the world!! And it does make us unique; I like that what I wear doesn’t look like everybody else. And I would add that the lack of Native American jewelry appreciation here is also due to not having easy access to it. Lately I’ve had a LOT of people comment on my jewelry and want to learn about it, especially at my Church (but then we did just spend a week out with Navajo kids). One gentleman was so interested in my jewelry he’s determined he’s going to get himself a Navajo-made silver band. He is self-employed in the sign industry so he understands how much work goes into something handmade.
I’m glad you joined in with your awesome belts and necklaces (I remember some of them ). I wouldn’t mind seeing those earrings you’re wearing in the first picture either…
I’ve said before I’m not particularly a fan of claw jewelry (that’s just my personal taste, not sure why), but that necklace is actually pretty cool, and you look fabulous wearing it; it doesn’t look costumey to me - it just looks very chic.
Love this! Those three cuffs look really good together. Do they get stuck? When I wear a couple of my thinner ones together they seem to get under or on top of each other, and drive me insane. And I love the look of turquoise slab earrings, I should get some eventually; they don’t always seem very heavy.
I knew you would have some great combinations. That top pendant caught my eye. I don’t think I’ve seen that before; is it Zuni? And I believe I see some of your creations
Regarding your two turquoise cuffs - is the one with a bunch of stones the one you made? And is the other one a Sunshine Reeves cuff? Both beautiful. But these 3…
