How do we combine and wear our Native American bling

Hey Zia, these cuffs from the 40’s are part of a larger collection of Navajo bracelets that a gallery has had for a bit, but they both reminded me of your cuff from Ogg’s. :slightly_smiling_face: :+1: I much prefer yours, but I wanted to share these with you.

Those are gorgeous!! I love mine, but I like those equally well. I think mine is later, because it is hollow form; we had a discussion on here about that quite a long time ago which I will link. How old do you think this cuff could be?

Beautiful turquoise! Looks like Lake MI where we are for the weekend. Really like the cuff!

I wear my stuff everywhere, so here is what I have on now (one wrist anyway). A little chilly today to swim so I don’t need to worry about getting it wet.

I always wear what I call my “cormorant cuff” to the Great Lakes. The blue of my Calamity ring works with the water (can’t see the water color in this pic - it has a fabulous turquoise color that fades into indigo).

Happy Labor Day weekend to all! Hubby is very glad to not be making trucks

Oh, very nice combo! I love all of your silver rings, I’m very partial to silver rings but, that Calamity ring, though! drool The turquoise in that ring is awesome! I have one of his rings with a very interesting stone. I’ll post it here one day.

Is that a peyote bird? LOVE IT!

How lucky you are to get away! I’m home with a gut bacterial infection so, I’m pretty much stuck inside with no loss of things to do. :open_mouth:

Have a fab weekend!

Oh, I’m so sorry you’re not in feeling well, bummer. Last year up here my sister had a similar thing going on, but she’s finally healthy this year.

Yes, it is a peyote bird, and I’m pretty sure it’s a Tommy Singer. The very knowledgeable gentleman I bought it from a couple decades ago said the peyote birds are loosely based on anhingas. We don’t have on anhingas up here, but we have cormorants which look about exactly the same. That was one of the reasons I bought it

And please post your ring, I really want to see it!!

@Ziacat Here’s my Calamity ring. I really love his stuff.

So, I have zero idea of where the stone came from but, it’s super earthy, and unique.

A little small, isn’t it!?

@Phoenix7 Wow, that’s a stunner of a statement ring! Luv the turquoise. The reverse is as beautiful as the front. Thanks for sharing that beauty.

The only jewelry that I now buy is used. It usually comes from estate sales or garage sales. Some people think that it is weird but I like it. I often wonder where my jewelry has been. What parties it has gone to, what places it might have been. I would like my jewelry to have been on this lakeshore. Very peaceful and beautiful!

That’s AWESOME! I love the underneath stamping. He put some cool stamping on mine too, but not a quote. That totally looks like a Calamity ring! He had rings very much like yours at the Eiteljorg Market in June. I suspect it’s Kingman, because he seems to mostly have Kingman (and I think it looks like Kingman) and Ithaca Peak stones in his rings; mine is Ithaca Peak. I bought a sand cast ring with IP from him at the market this year.

Thanks @Patina

Yeah, it’s pretty cool but almost all of his stuff is epic.

If I win the lottery, most of my $$ is going to him. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have quite a few pawn pieces, which is what this cuff is. I have one pawn ring I bought on the Rez, and it still has thread wrapped around the band which to me meant it was worn and loved.

This pic is at a wonderful Lake Michigan beach, about half way up the western side of the lower Peninsula of the state. The west side of MI is non stop sand beaches with a lot of big (biggest are 450 feet!) dunes!

Me too, plus Reggie Mitchell and Anthony Lovato  unfortunately among many others

Are we all going to out and get some more Calamity this week?:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Yeah, he’s a keeper. I was thinking maybe Kingman too but, that’s the 1st stone like that that I’ve seen so, I wasn’t sure.

I’ve seen quite a bit of what they call Ceremonial Kingman (per the mine) that looks like your ring. I won’t be buying any this week. There’s not much turquoise jewelry up here! Plus I have blown my budget for the year jewelry wise.

@chris That’s where you get the best stuff! I absolutely love the vintage NA jewelry, and nowadays, the only place to get the rare pieces are from estate sales. People are hording all the good stuff. I remember when I first started buying NA jewelry, there was a ton of really great looking options out there but, now it’s just mostly production pieces that make me yawn.

Well, I’m not buying either. The gem and mineral show is coming the 2nd week of October so, I need to save my pennies for that.
