My first Zuni Knifewing

I recently purchased this beautiful Knifewing pin from a lady who was liquidating her NA jewelry collection. It’s hallmarked for Bobby Concho, Zuni in etched script. Also hallmarked with an “M” but maybe it’s really a “W” (if you flip the piece). Hougart’s 3rd edition NA/SW hallmarks book states that Concho collaborates with Elizabeth Whitman. “KPRR” is also in etched script on the back. A trading post code, maybe? The lady purchased this Knifewing in Gallup, NM in 1998. Ignore that (original?) price on the back. I paid a little over $100 for the pin. H = 2.50" and W=2.25".

That’s a really nice knifewing, Patina. Lots of detail in a relatively small piece. Have you seen @AC ’s collection?

@TAH Thank you! No, I haven’t. Sounds like there’s a thread about @AC’s Knifewing collection ~ I’ll definitely check that out.

Is that the one with the different pattern of legs or arms?

@Patina A striking example, quite elaborate in its lapidary work! The sheen on the mother of pearl in the headdress and wings is really special. Congrats!

Great purchase at a great price. A lot of work went into that.

It’s gorgeous. Sometimes I avoid detailed inlay, because there is so much fake, but this manages to look beautifully made, and yet very real - if that makes sense.

Great piece, it is a collaboration with Mary Morgan. That KPRR is the cost, it was originally $85 to make the piece, so definitely has some age.

@Jason Thank you so much for this information. It’s much appreciated!

I agree with Jason, inlay by Bobby, silverwork by Mary!

This is one by Betty Natachu and Mary Morgan! The silver dots are very similar to yours.
