Turquoise jewelry I recently made

Very nice work! I love star gems too but, that stamp work is sooooo great! Loving the styling combo

Beautiful work as always. You have to remember with my following comment that I’m partial to gold with gems: a lovely ring, the stone appears subdued in the sterling setting in the last photos. Has a nice organic look in the first photos. Rubies, especially stars are tough to photograph.

My personal preference is yellow gold with ruby. I have a nice one set in white gold that has to go to GIA for grading. I’m thinking of just popping it out and remounting in yellow. Just my personal opinion.

Your new ring is soooo pretty! And its purple color is magical. Star sapphire is such a unique gemstone. The band is really cool looking. Ya knocked it outta the park again with your creativity & craftsmanship.

Lovely clean flawless work, Stracci! Looks great on your finger.

Thanks! The angled edge was an afterthought, really. When I was filing on it, the sapphire held up perfectly, Mohs hardness 9!

Its my birthstone, too.

I confess, I have a fistfull of sapphires kicking around the house!

Thanks! I was just experimenting, clearly I don’t have real stamps!

I love that ruby, Steve. The color is divine. And I agree about yellow gold with red stones. Of course gold is, and always has been, cost prohibitive for me. So it’s silver for me!

Here is a nice ruby wave band I found on eBay several years ago. Shown stacked here with other bands. Set in rose gold. My jeweler friend felt confident that it is Burmese.

Thank you Patina! I had fun with it.

Thanks Mike! I usually prefer the high polish which gives a fresh look, but thought I’d try something different this time.

In my opinion, the only thing one needs is real passion, and you certainly have that, @Stracci. :slightly_smiling_face:

@Ravenscry I love working with my hands, and really love creating.

You know I actually prefer repurposing things I have around the house as opposed to buying anything new. I’m weird like that😂

I was hunting around in the garage and when I found hubby’s assortment of nail sets, I thought they might be useful.

For me silver beats gold every day, so keep it up

Beautiful ring! I always prefer turquoise (even though sapphire is also my birthstone), but that is a lovely stone.

Thanks Zia!

It’s looks much better in person! I struggled with those pictures

The camera can’t really capture the translucency and star effect like the human eye does.

Very lovely! Where did you use the twisted wire?

Oooooooo! Nice ring and stone.

Thanks! That bit of twisted wire is still sitting on my workbench.

Nice :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: @Stracci It’s really gorgeous. Your ring reminded me of a ring I’m pondering on at my jeweler. Looking to treat myself for Christmas and this is just mesmerizing. I couldn’t add the video but this is a screenshot of the ring.

Wow, that’s gorgeous! You can’t go wrong with a star sapphire! As long as the legs are straight. I have a few nice ones and a few wonky ones. But when the star is crisp and the body has translucency, its everything!
