Turquoise jewelry I recently made

Thank you @mmrogers !
Maybe I’ll try a ruby next.

Great idea. I see classic style emerging in your work. Reminiscent of renaissance old world work. Are you using a reflective layer underneath your translucent gems to capture and reflect light through the stones?

@mmrogers
You are right on both counts!
I was looking at both Etruscan and Renaissance styles when I made the sapphire ring.
And yes, I used a piece of shiny mylar under both stones to help them look a bit more lively.

As you know, settings always make transparent colored stones look darker. Sad but true!

God, what a gorgeous thing! Certainly see the Etruscan inspiration and even something almost…Tudor? What a talent you have! Looking through this entire thread has blown me away!

I don’t see much sterling jewelry with “precious” stones. You made very good use of the cab and complimented it with your design.

Thank you @riobravo, for the nice compliment!

@StevesTrail
Thanks, Steve!
Some people think that “precious stones” should be in gold or platinum. I don’t believe in limiting stones that way.

Here is today’s creation.
I’ve had this Whitewater cab for a little while, and finally came up with an idea.

Adjustable band, for those days when my knuckles swell!

Thanks @Ziacat !

I’m trying to be productive on my last day of holiday vacation.
I’m bummed out 'cause I have to work tomorrow :confused:

What a beautiful cab on an equally beautiful setting. Well done!

@here4turquoise
Thanks! I originally intended for this to be a pendant, but a ring just happened…
Sometimes the stone tells you what it wants to be.

Absolutely stunning. And I agree, many stones look better set in silver (or white gold) than in yellow gold, whether they be precious or semi-precious.

Very pretty ring all round! I see your hallmark of a ‘D’. There are too many D’s on Native American jewelry. We will have to think of a pictorial hallmark to go along with your letter. :grin::hugs:

@chamekke Thanks! Silver looks great with just about any stone.

@nanc9354
Thank you! The D is for my first name. I’ve been using that stamp for 20 years.
I just never got around to buying the stamp for my last initial!

In some different lighting…

Again, another great creation.

On a personal note and not taking anything away from the ring, I’m just not too crazy about that color turquoise. Kind of has a bleached or washed out appearance to me.

Thanks Zia!
I like that kind of bezel, too. I think it adds a little bit of interest to the whole piece.
