@Lbadbad Great bracelet and pendant! I love these large row bracelets! I agree with @Ziacat, really brilliant sky blue. Do you know the artist of either piece or the type of turquoise?

I just got this Morenci cab in Tucson last week. It might be my new favorite.

@Emily Is the photo highly manipulated? Just isn’t reading Morenci, more like stabilized Kingman or something.

No, I just reduced the warmth a little because my overhead light was making it look too yellow. I was told by the lapidary that I bought it from that it was morenci but he could be wrong. I bought it from Armando and sons at the Kino show.

@SevernSound My God !!! That’s cool the craftsmanship and the creation from genesis to revelation

Here are some of my favs. Couldn’t pick, so went by category, lol. Cuffs and ring…My frog cuff and the other is by Charlie John. The ring isn’t the biggest or most expensive ring I own, but it’s my favorite. It just has a nice heavy feel, and I like all the different colors of turquoise. Bought it at Teec Nos Pos Trading Post, and the owner of the Post told me it was made in the 50s. Has a hallmark of VB.

I love this pendant by Manuel Hoyungwa.

My buckles I inherited from my dad and mom. Bought in '71 and '69.

@Ziacat they all look amazing, however your frog cuff is the bomb! My cousin was Blackfoot and every time we worked together we had a situation involving a large toad or a frog. Memories…

@GreenRock the frog :frog: and toad has always been medicinal to me!!

Thank you, little bit of Zuni, Navajo, and Hopi represented there! Although not sure whether the frog is Zuni or Navajo.

That’s so interesting that your cousin is Blackfoot. We drove through the Blackfeet Reservation east of Glacier National Park once. I remember they had so many beautiful horses out in the grasslands everywhere.

The Sonoran Desert Toad :frog: was used as medicine by indigenous southwestern people in shamanic rituals

Interesting. But waaay out of my wheelhouse.

The cuff is in a design used in the past (learned this from Chicfarmer in a previous post). The very knowledgeable gentleman I bought the cuff from wasn’t sure if it was Zuni or Navajo. He said it was Navajo style, but thought possibly more likely Zuni because of the use of the frog symbol. He definitely called it a frog not a toad.

And, no, I’m not a huge reptile person even though I have a cuff with a frog and a buckle with a snake!

This is my uncle’s turquoise belt or whatever it’s traditionally called that is sterling silver and heavy!!!
He bought it last year for his birthday and was happy about how much he paid for it as he said they didn’t know how much it’s worth! I believe he happily gave them $250.
It’s genuine leather and I believe it’s hallmarked. I’ll get better pictures next month when I take a trip to California to visit him

Absolutely beautiful Turquoise. I would never of guessed Kingman. I didnt know this color came out of that mine. How many colors are there???

Kingman varies a lot and can be a beautiful stone. Like I’ve said here before, I love Kingman because it’s a classic Arizona turquoise. Try googling Kingman turquoise, hit images, and you will see the huge range it comes in.

I will do that for sure!

I’ve been busy with more storms but my sister sent me two cuffs I sent her for her birthday, probably in mid 90s. One is a 2 row Emer Thompson cuff which I love, and probably my fav is an old pawn cuff with just 35 scribed in it of Red Mt. Turquoise. Any information I’m not aware of. Sorry about the image of the Thompson cuff stamp its a bit late in the day for me. haha.

All very nice but I’d love to know if there is a hallmark on the back of the snake buckle. It has the Cheama or Calavaza style except for the plain edges.

No Hallmark. Just detailed verification from when it was bought that it’s Dan Simplicio. And I have had it looked at by numerous knowledgeable people on my many trips west (including the Heard museum). Definitely not an Effie. It does look like her husband’s work, but people who know way more than I do believed it was made by Dan Simplicio. But I am not gonna sell it, so it’s okay if I don’t know :100: per cent.
